Homeless animals are an involuntary part of our society. They have become homeless due to the actions or inactions of the members of the society.
Animal shelter
However, they too deserve a chance at life, companionship and shelter. The Pärnu animal shelter was established by Varjupaikade MTÜ (a non-profit association that manages animal shelters in four Estonian cities) in cooperation with the local governments of Pärnu County and volunteers.
It is our goal to help lost pets once again reach their homes, to provide aid to mistreated and injured pets and wild animals, to find new and caring homes for abandoned animals, and to inform the society of the necessity of neutering and castrating their pets as well as equipping them with special microchips. In 2008, the animal shelter in Pärnu provided a home for 913 pets.
Our activity is highly dependent on donations and the help of animal-friendly supporters. We ask that you visit us if you find that at least one of our goals is important to you.
The Pärnu animal shelter is located at Raba 32 in the city of Pärnu and the shelter is open 10 AM – 5 PM from Tuesday to Friday and 10 AM – 2 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The shelter is closed on Mondays.
